The Ways to Peace :

inner peace, peace with nature and peace amongst peoples

Peace it the responsibility of each and every one of us.

The many Ways to Peace are explored, celebrated with music, poetry, stories, dance, discoveries, talks, awareness of nature, mandalas and the moving body,

throughout a two-day festival in the sublime Tintern Abbey.

As a contribution to the United Nations’ International Day of Peace, the aim of Ways to Peace is to encourage ideals of peace within and amongst all nations and peoples, peace within oneself and peace within Nature

The festival will coincide with Cadw’s Heritage Open Doors weekend, so visitors will have the opportunity to connect with peace in a variety of talks, music, poetry, workshops, movement drumming, and meditation workshops. Dance workshops on the Saturday will be lead by Cardiff’s own Rubicon dance company, and they will be performing two unique dance pieces – all for free!

The inspiration for this project arises from pressing evidence of social alienation and polarization with increasing tensions between nations and governments, as well as crisis level environmental destruction. These strains contribute towards a spreading, infectious climate fear and hatred.

The aim, therefore, is to foster and celebrate a climate of peace within the tranquility of Tintern Abbey, through this two-day intercultural event.
